Croydon FC 3-0 down in the 70th minute, made it 3-3 in the 86th minute. Athletic Newham thought they had scored the winner in the 90th minute but was ruled offside. Within 20 seconds, the ball found itself instead up the other end in the goal and Croydon FC completed an amazing comeback to win 4-3. Cue jubilant celebrations from the players and fans, with one Croydon fan running the 400m around the track waving a club scarf in celebration!
The game was played in the athletics stadium which can have an attendance of up to 24,000, along with the National Sports Centre, is located in Crystal Palace Park. The stadium stands on the same land as a previous football ground, which hosted the FA Cup final from 1895 to 1914. The current athletics stadium was built on the site of the football ground and opened in 1964. From 1999 to 2012, it hosted the London Grand Prix.
